HOW TO BE A PART OF OUR MAGAZINE OUR MISSION AND POLICY STATEMENT THE FORWARDIAN ARCHIVES MORE ABOUT OUR PUBLICATION THE FORWARDIAN ARTS SOCIETY

FORWARDIAN III
After taking a brief break from publishing our second issue, we began work on the third issue of Forwardian. We put out the word we were accepting creative contributions and began receiving some truly wonderful work which made the selection process a wonderful challenge. We also made some major decisions relating to the magazine. The first was to forego attempts to present a print version of Forwardian. Although the initial reasoning was based upon the difficulty we had raising enough funds to do so, we soon realized an online version of our publication allowed us many options we wouldn't have otherwise. The second decision we made was to hold a competition to determine what images would appear on the front and back covers of our next issue. The Cover to Cover exhibition was held at The Sarah Street Grill in Stroudsburg, PA from June until August in 2011 with an abundance of artists and photographers sharing their talents and numerous art lovers in attendance. You may read more about the exhibition and its reception here.

Although the joy of completing the third issue of Forwardian along with the compliments we've received from those who experienced it made us eager to begin work on the forth issue, we took a break in order to catch our breaths. Unfortunately, our Editor in Chief Jan Julia informed us she was unable to continue her role in our magazine due to her commitment as Director of a production titled, “The Thwarting of Baron Bolligrew” to be presented at The Shawnee Playhouse*** in Shawnee on Delaware, PA beginning Friday March 23rd. Although she and her Pivotal contributions to the magazine will be missed, we wish her the best of everything in her endeavors. As we begun the task of seeking new work for the fourth issue, we decided to create positions to assist the Forwardian managerial staff in their endeavors. There were two reasons for this. The first was based upon our experience in receiving so much work during the submission schedule of the third issue that it sometimes overwhelmed our managerial staff and threatened to overshadow their abilities to meet other important obligations germaine to their life conditions. The second reason derived from our desire to provide an opportunity to others who sought to participate in decisions effecting the progress and development of Forwardian. We put out the word we were accepting submission and searching for help at the end of January 2012. Although the reception of submissions was scheduled to begin on Sunday February 5th, numerous contributions were sent to us prior to that date. This was and remains to be considered a wonderful blessing and a humbling show of support by the creative community for our publication. We look forward to receiving more prior to the April 15th, 2012 submission deadline for the June 2012 edition of Forwardian. It was around this time Chris Sullivan contacted us with an interest in becoming an assistant to one of our Managerial Staff members. On Saturday February 25th, he met with our Poetry and Literary Editor (Alexandra Carpenter) and will be helping her perform her tasks soon. It is at this time we would like to welcome Chris aboard.
