WE'VE ONLY JUST BEGUN
Well, Monday March 15th can be marked as the day our magazine, Forwardian. Began to take shape. I’ve
begun the process of positioning all the stories, poetry, and images we’ve selected for our first issue.
We still need money to print it and if you would like to help please let me know. But, in the meantime, it
feels so good to see it begin to take form.
MORE TO COME
HOW TO BECOME A PART OF OUR MAGAZINE

SPRINGING FORWARDIAN
Well, what a wonderful week this has been. We had a fantastic time at The Shawnee Gallery in Shawnee on
Delaware, PA who invited us to be a part of their Spring Equinox Maple Sugaring Celebration on Saturday
March 27th. Poets who will be appearing in our upcoming literary and arts magazine, Forwardian, shared
their words with a mesmerized gathering while our musical friends performed to enhance the day which
was full of delights. And, if this wasn‘t enough, there were demonstrations given by artists that were very
informative.

I would like to take this time to thank all the poets, musicians, artists who made this a great day for the arts.
I would especially like to thank Christine Griffin who invited us to be a part of the Shawnee Gallery’s Annual
event and gave us an opportunity to present those involved with the magazine to the public. I also like to
thank Debbie Burk of
Pocono Jazz and Poetry and editor of Forwardian who helped organized the even
making sure everything ran smoothly. And it did. You can read all about it and see the multitude of pictures
I took on our blogs which you’ll find links to from our Website’s homepage.

The event also served as a fund raiser for the magazine and we certainly did raise some funds for it. We’re
still no where near the $2500 we originally set our goals for, but we do have enough to print quite a few
copies which is about 500 of the 2000 we hoped for. However, if you would like to help us with a financial
contribution so we can print more,
please feel free to contact me to learn how.

So, when is this magazine actually coming out? Well, here is a production schedule I hope to abide by. I
hope to complete the layout of the magazine by Saturday April 10th with the fine tuning stage taking place
April 12th - 15th. I then intend to contact the printer soon afterwards and ask him to print as many copies we
have funds for. If all goes well, we should get the magazine back and ready for distribution by Friday April
23rd and finish placing them all over Monroe county and beyond by the end of April.

We may have to modify this schedule, but I’ll give you weekly updates on how we’re progressing.
ANOTHER STEP FORWARDIAN
We’ve made yet another step closer to publication on Monday April 26th. We’ve completed the layout for
the entire magazine. All that is left is to perform some final tune ups and getting it to the printer. We hope
to have it all ready for that happy day within a week or two with the distribution beginning early to mid May.
Not quite on the schedule I created a while ago, but it feels so good.
MOVING THE WORD FORWARDIAN
Debbie Burke (our Editor) and I were interviewed during The Petraology 233 Show which was aired live
on
The Pocono Internet Broadcast Co. Wednesday May 5th. It was a lot of fun and it was good to get the
word out about our wonderful publication.
AND, WE'RE OFF
At 4:30pm on Tuesday May 11th, the PDF Files containing the finished version of "Forwardian" were sent
to Cantone Press to be printed. Now, we just have to wait for the printing process to be done and the
magazine to come home all grown up. When it does, you will know. I'll be standing on top of my roof
yelling it out for all the world to hear. No phones, Internet, or smoke singles needed to hear me. Smiles.
AND, WE'RE HERE
The Forwardian Arts Society received 500 copies of the premier edition of its new Literary and Arts
Magazine “Forwardian” just outside the Starbucks Coffeehouse Stroudsburg, PA at 1:37pm on
Wednesday May 19th. We celebrated over a slice of Pizza at the neighboring Venuto’s Old World Pizza
and was that ever good. I then went on my heroic journey (well, ok, maybe heroic isn’t the right word
here) to begin distributing the magazine throughout the town.

Many Stores and restaurant owners gave me a curious look saying they have never heard of our
magazine. I was tempted to say, “Well, duh” but common sense and the desire to share “Forwardian”
with their customers kept my instincts at bay. I’ve placed about 200 copies this first day and handed out
several more to people whom I knew and just happen to pass by while walking the streets.

A Distribution list can be found at our website We still have more places to visit so the list will change
over the next few weeks. We hope to take a breather around then but we are already planning our next
issue. We’ll be sure to let you know when we’re accepting your stories, poetry, art, and photography as
we’re looking forward to receiving them.

In the meantime, I would like to share my deepest appreciation to those who have either contributed
creatively and/or financially to our endeavor along with those who kept a good thought for us. I would
especially like to thank  our Editor
Debbie Burke of Pocono Jazz and Poetry for her tireless efforts in
getting “Forwardian” ready to be published.

So, do you want a copy? Well, check out our website for a distribution site near you. But, if they ran out
by the time you get there or you’re way out of the area,
let me know.
